Pros/Cons to Playing Tri Card Poker Online

It would be naive to say that gambling online is for everyone. So the first thing that I wanted to cover are the pros and cons to playing tri card poker online.

Note: Most of the information below will apply to all games, not just tri card poker.

Pros to Playing Online

  • You can play tri card poker free. Most online casinos offer free versions of their games. The reason why they can do this is that their overhead is so much cheaper compared to a brick and mortar casino. Also, you’re not going to take up space that a paying customer could take up, which is the case in a live setting.
  • Online casinos offer deposit bonuses. Brick and mortar casinos don’t do this, at least not as often or as much as online sites.
  • Online casino’s games have lower limits. Again, this goes back to the whole overhead thing. It’s much cheaper to run an online casino than a brick and mortar casino. You don’t have a bunch of dealers, servers and other employees to pay. So the savings (or conveniences) are passed on to the players.

Cons to Playing Online

  • It’s much riskier to gamble online. It’s not legal in every country or state to gamble online, which obviously comes with it’s own risks and consequences. What’s more is that many casinos can just take your money and there is very little recourse for getting back, at least while living in the United States.
  • Moving money on and offline can be difficult. This is especially true in the USA where banks aren’t even supposed to handle gambling transactions. As a result, you might find that you have a hard time moving money on and off the site.

There are other pros and cons too, but these are ones that will affect you the most. Other pros and cons might be things like staying home and saving money from not having to travel (pro), or missing out on the true casino experience (con). Most pros and cons will come down to personal preference.

Getting Started Online

For a total beginner getting started with gambling online can be intimidating. But it’s just as easy as playing in a brick and mortar casino. Here is a brief overview of what you need to do to get started with tri card poker online. This advice is explained in more detail (or will be) throughout the site.

1st Step – Know & Understand the Risks to Playing Online

The first step to playing casino games online is to understand the risks. The truth of the matter is that the internet is still a baby. There hasn’t been an opportunity to regulate the games like what you’ll find in the likes of Las Vegas or Reno. Not to mention that it’s more complicated, given that many online casinos have servers outside the US. That makes it harder for the US government to touch them, and possibly other outside countries too.

The point is that at any time something can happen to your account or money, and your options for fighting back are limited.

To add to the risk, playing online might not be legal in your jurisdiction, whether that’s in the US or not. Not every state or country allows their people to gamble online, even if they have brick and mortar establishments. In fact, that’s a key reason for them making online gambling illegal.

Overall, just know that despite the coolness that gambling online is, for most people it doesn’t come without some risks. Be sure to assess these before getting started.

2nd Step – Find an Online Casino

Your second step is to find an online casino to play at. This shouldn’t be that difficult to do. There are tens, if not hundreds, of online casinos. And tri card poker is a popular enough game that you should have no problem finding it.

The real trick to finding an online casino is making sure you don’t sign up for the wrong one. And by wrong, I mean not safe, reliable or secure. Signing up to a casino full of crooks.

For the most part this is easy to avoid. Just play at the sites we recommend. You can also check to make sure the site has been audited recently, which proves that their games are random (random = not fixed).

You’ll also want to make sure that the casino takes players from your country or state, and that their software is compatible with your computer or tablet.

3rd Step – Understanding Deposit Bonuses and T&Cs

The next step to playing tri card (or any other casino game) online is to understand what deposit bonuses are and how they work. I’ve already created an in-depth page on that topic. But to give you an overview:

  • A deposit bonus is money given to you by the casino as an incentive to deposit, or to encourage you to deposit again.
  • Bonus money isn’t 100% free. Most casinos require that you wager so many times your deposit plus bonus before you’re able to make a withdrawal.
  • Not all games can be played towards the completion of your deposit bonus. If they are, it’s usually at a fraction. That means you’ll have to play through or wager more money compared to other games to clear the same bonus. With tri card poker this is hit or miss.

4th Step – Make Your Deposit

Assuming you did your research in the first step, then this step should be easy. Just choose the method you’d like to use, enter in your credit card information and click submit.

One thing that you will want to keep in mind when making your deposit is that 99% of all casinos only give you one shot at your deposit bonus. In other words, if you can have up to $1,000 matched and you only deposit $100, that’s all you get.

The moral of the story? Make sure you deposit as much as you can. If you’re short on cash, wait a week or two to deposit your money. Another option is to deposit your money elsewhere where the bonus is smaller, then complete the requirements and then move your funds back over to the casino where the bonuses are bigger. That way you can take advantage of as much free money as possible.

5th Step – Play Tri Card Poker

The easiest step of all. Find a tri card table with stakes you’re comfortable playing, sit down and get to work.

I’d include a 6th step, which would be to win big, but something tells me that you already know that one.
